Over the weekend, I decided to roll up my sleeves and bring to life a small side project I’ve been meaning to build for some time.\nIntroducing:\nAB-Sea Stats\nWhy AB-Sea Stats?\nIn the world of experimentation, numbers tell stories. But too often, we get bogged down in the calculations instead of focusing on the insights.\nAB-Sea Stats\nis my humble attempt to help analysts, data scientists, and decision-makers sail through these complexities with clarity and confidence. Whether you’re\nplanning experiments\nor\nanalyzing results\n, this app brings the tools you need right to your fingertips.\nWhat can the v1 of AB-Sea Stats do for you?\n1. Statistical Significance Calculator\nDesigned for when you need to determine if your test results are significant.\nIdeal for proportion-based metrics like click-through or conversion rates.\nOutputs include: Proportion difference, Confidence intervals, p-values and z-values.\n2. Power Analysis:\nHelps you plan experiments efficiently by calculating: Sample size required for different effect sizes (MDEs), Time (in weeks) to reach those sample sizes based on your weekly traffic.\nSupports\nmean-based metrics\n(e.g., revenue, time on site) and\nproportion-based metrics\n(e.g., success rate).\nFlexibility to choose between\nabsolute\nand\nrelative metrics\nfor your effect size.\nApp in action\nSet Sail with AB-Sea Stats\nBuilding\nAB-Sea Stats\nwas a refreshing way to combine my love for statistics and experimentation with a desire to create tools that simplify everyday workflows.\nThis is just the start!
