"body_markdown": "Over the past few weeks, we (I and @\nSumeet Naik\n) built something. A simple tool that turns chaotic Google Drives into clean, user-friendly libraries.\nWe call it\nNexoDrive\n.\nBut this post isn’t just a product announcement — it’s the story behind why we built it and how it solves a surprisingly common problem.\nThe Pain Point: “Where’s the File?”\nWhether you're building software, running a business, or studying in college — you’ve probably heard (or said):\n“Can you resend the link?”\n“I can’t find the file.”\n“Where did you put this?”\n“Do I need permission?”\nGoogle Drive is powerful, but for sharing large sets of files, it falls apart fast.\nPeople struggle to navigate deep folder structures.\nPermission management becomes a nightmare.\nLinks get mixed up.\nYou spend more time helping people find files than actually working.\nWe ran into this problem while building a notes-sharing platform for a college. With\n1,500+ users\n, Drive chaos became a daily issue.\nSo we built a solution.\nThe Idea: A Display Layer for Google Drive\nWe didn’t want to replace Drive.\nDrive is great for storage.\nWe wanted to replace how people\nview\nyour Drive.\nThe concept of NexoDrive became clear:\nThe owner stores everything in Google Drive (just like always)\nNexoDrive reads the Drive using read-only access\nWe index everything and create a clean interface\nEnd users can browse files instantly without touching Google Drive\nA simple idea — but incredibly effective.\nSecurity First\nWhen someone hears “access to your Drive,” it’s natural to worry.\nSo from day one, we designed NexoDrive to be safe:\nOnly\nread-only\naccess (no editing, deleting, downloading, or moving files)\nYou choose exactly what to show\nYour Drive stays untouched\nAll indexing is internal and controlled\nYour privacy stays intact.\nWhat the User Sees\nThis is the magic.\nInstead of the messy Google Drive UI, they get:\nClean file lists\nSearch\nInstant loading\nNo login needed (unless you want it)\nOnly the files you choose to display\nIt looks like a custom-built resource library — without you needing to build anything.\nEarly Feedback\nWhen we deployed this for the college platform:\n💬 Students said:\n“Finally, everything is easy to find.”\n💬 Teachers said:\n“We don’t have to manage permissions anymore.”\n💬 Admins said:\n“This saves hours every week.”\nThat’s when we realized the potential.\nWho This Is For\nNexoDrive can help:\nEducational institutions\nFreelancers & agencies\nCoaches & mentors\nBusinesses sharing documents\nCreators delivering files\nTeams with shared resources\nCommunities hosting notes/materials\nIf your Google Drive is the heart of your workflow, NexoDrive becomes the face of it.\nTry It Out\nWe’ve launched our public beta here:\n👉\nhttps://nexodrive.xyz\nThis is just version 1. We have big plans for:\nCustom branding\nAnalytics\nAccess control\nBetter search\nMulti-account support\nEmbeddable file viewers\nIf you have ideas, feedback, or feature requests — we’d love to hear them.\nThanks for reading, and welcome to the beginning of a much cleaner file-sharing experience. 🚀",
